1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the ChoreChamp mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

If you are using the App on behalf of a family, you represent that you have the authority to bind all family members to these Terms.

2. Description of Service

ChoreChamp is a family chore management application that allows:

  • Parents to create and assign household chores to family members
  • Children to complete chores and earn "stars" as rewards
  • Parents to create custom rewards that children can redeem using earned stars
  • Real-time synchronization across family members' devices
  • Photo verification of completed chores

3. Account Registration

To use ChoreChamp, parents must create an account using a valid email address. You are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

Children join using a 6-character invite code generated by parents. Parents are responsible for supervising their children's use of the App.

4. Subscription and Payments

4.1 Free Trial

New users receive a free trial period with full access to all features. No credit card is required to start the trial.

4.2 Subscription

After the free trial, continued use requires a subscription at $1.99/month. One subscription covers your entire family with unlimited parents and children.

4.3 Payment Processing

All payments are processed through the Google Play Store. By subscribing, you agree to Google Play's terms of service and payment policies.

4.4 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Google Play Store. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods.

5. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Use the App only for its intended purpose of family chore management
  • Not upload inappropriate, offensive, or illegal content
  • Not attempt to reverse engineer, hack, or compromise the App's security
  • Not use the App to harass, abuse, or harm others
  • Supervise children's use of the App appropriately
  • Keep your account credentials confidential

6. Content and Data

6.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of content you create in the App (chore names, reward descriptions, photos, etc.). By using the App, you grant us a limited license to store and process this content solely to provide the service.

6.2 Data Deletion

If you delete the App, all your family data will be permanently deleted. If you remove a child from your family, all their data is permanently deleted. We do not retain this information.

7. Intellectual Property

The ChoreChamp App, including its design, features, code, and content (excluding user-generated content), is owned by ChoreChamp and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not:

  • Copy, modify, or distribute the App
  • Use ChoreChamp trademarks without permission
  • Create derivative works based on the App

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CHORECHAMP SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP.

Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.

You may terminate your account at any time by deleting the App or contacting us at support@chorechamp.me.

11. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms in the App or on our website. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
